The Women's Interest Group is happy to present: Lee Loveall- Preparing For the Possibility, Not the Probability of a Violent Encounter
This event will be held on Saturday, January 12 at 1:00pm in the club house. All necessary supplies will be provided.
Training For The Possibility, Not The Probability, Of A Violent Encounter is not a martial arts class, or weapons class. Rather, it will introduce you to the concepts of why self-confidence is a major component of self-defense. How the lack of it can make you an easy target for predatory criminals. During the session you will learn what criminals are looking for in a victim, and how your appearance and actions affect their selection process. You will learn how knowledge, confidence, and fear affect your ability to defend yourself; ways to avoid dangerous or confrontational situations; and ways to de-escalate a situation you can not avoid. And lastly, we will discuss and demonstrate some basic defensive moves you can practice that may give you a better chance of surviving the rare probability of a violent attack, and the risks involved in using them.
